A 25-year-old aspiring screenwriter, Shinkoshu, is hit by a car and, upon waking, finds himself in a half-dead, half-alive state. He is thrown into a liminal space between the afterlife—where souls wander—and the human world. There, he is guided to hell by a female superior named "Mako" and is assigned the role of a "Soul People Deacon," responsible for capturing wandering spirits. These spirits, bound by the karma of their previous lives, include a young man who once aspired to be a film director and an arrogant girl who dreamed of becoming a writer. As Shinkoshu encounters these difficult spirits, he begins to recall the countless films that inspired his dreams in life, rediscovering himself and gradually unleashing his potential. However...!?
